Research
Mission Medical Associates physicians and practices are involved in many clinical trial research endeavors. These clinical trials enable physicians and their patients to have access to treatment options not otherwise available and to experience satisfaction in knowing they are contributing to science. Easy access to resources and support offered at Mission Health System's Research Institute helps to facilitate clinical trials.

Research at Mission: A Collaborative Effort
Since 2000, the core team of medical personnel and health researchers at Mission has worked together to conduct research. Staff members have extensive clinical and epidemiological research experience and are committed to promoting standards of good clinical practices in the conduct of research. Designed as a "one-stop shop" for researchers, the institute provides assistance to investigators that allows them to focus on their research activities.
Research Institute staff assume responsibility for most of the administrative and regulatory tasks associated with conducting clinical trials, including contracting and budgeting. Dedicated clinical research coordinators (RNs) assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, screen and enroll patients under the advisement of the investigator, obtain and report data, organize study records, and meet with monitors. The Research Institute also acts as the liaison with study sponsors through the life cycle of the research project.
The ultimate goal of research at Mission is to encourage, facilitate and support high-quality collaborative research studies designed to improve health. For more information, please contact the Research Institute at 828-213-7055.
